The majority of them were trained in the Zuidas business district of Amsterdam. Our firm was originally established in 2005, based on the need to do things differently and to do business on the basis of a vision. From our offices located on the unique Bickerseiland in the centre of Amsterdam, we work for many foreign clients and collaborate with law firms in other countries.

Application procedure
International approach
Step 1
Send us your CV, your study and graduation results, other relevant documents and your motivation, in which you tell us why and in what way you identify with Brinkhof's focus and ambitions. If the information you provided appeals to us, you will be invited for an initial meeting with two Brinkhof partners and our HR manager as soon as possible.
Step 2
The next step for lawyer trainees and employees is an ability test. By conducting three short tests, we will form a picture of your abstract intelligence, your numerical skills and your ability to process verbal information. With regard to the latter, we will use a Watson Glaser test to test your ability to:
define a problem; select the right information in order to solve a problem; recognise well-founded and unsubstantiated assumptions; formulate and select relevant hypotheses; and draw the right conclusions.
Step 3
Two more interviews will then be scheduled with three partners from different practice groups. Not only will this give us a full and proper picture of you, but you will also get a good impression of Brinkhof. After all, this is also a selection process for you. During that process, it is also very likely that an informal introductory lunch or a cup of coffee with trainee lawyers and employees will also be included.
Step 4
If requested, the entire procedure can take place within a very short time. If we make you an offer to join us, we will ask you to provide a Certificate of Conduct (VOG).

Brinkhof anually organises the Internet Thesis Award for the best legal master’s thesis in the field of internet and law. The winning thesis is awarded with a cash prize of €2,000 and will be published online.
With the Internet Thesis Award, Brinkhof wants to encourage students to specialise in this contemporary and dynamic area of law. Therefor they offer a platform to excellent students. Brinkhof also considers it important that students have the opportunity to present themselves and to establish connections in the world of information law.
