Karlijn van den Heuvel

Karlijn is a lawyer at Brinkhof specialising in information law and intellectual property, with a focus on media and platform regulation. She also has extensive experience in advising clients on privacy and data protection law.
Experience & ancillary activities
Karlijn joined Brinkhof in 2023, having previously worked at a renowned Amsterdam law firm. She obtained her Master’s, cum laude, from the University of Amsterdam, where she completed a two-year research Master’s programme focusing on information law and intellectual property. During her studies, Karlijn also studied at Cambridge University in the UK (Gonville and Caius College) and at the Cardozo School of Law in New York.
She has published articles in both Dutch and international legal journals. Karlijn also received two awards for her Master’s thesis, including the Brinkhof Internet Thesis Award. Karlijn is a member of the Netherlands Association for Information Technology and Law (NVvIR).
