Fleur Folmer is a partner at Brinkhof and has worked her entire career as an intellectual property (IP) specialist. Fleur’s practice focuses on trademarks, design, trade and domain names. Fleur advises and litigates on all aspects of these, before both the judicial and administrative authorities in the Netherlands and those of the European Union. Fleur also negotiates IP licences and assists clients with product and brand launches. Fleur serves national and international clients in various sectors, such as fashion, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), electronics, retail and luxury. Fleur also assists financial institutions with IP aspects specific to that sector, such as the establishment of security rights on IP rights. In addition, Fleur regularly assists parties as to transactions in which intellectual property plays a key role, such as IP-driven mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, divestments and private equity investments.

In addition to her work in the legal profession, Fleur is also active in various professional associations, such as the International Trademark Association (INTA), in which she participates (regularly as chair) in committees, the Benelux Association for Trademark and Design Law (BMM) and the Copyright Association (VvA). Fleur is also one of the authors of the standard reference work “Tekst & Commentaar Intellectuele Eigendom”. Fleur has been a lawyer since 1996 and until recently worked at NautaDutilh. Since October 2023, Fleur is a partner at Brinkhof.
