Atze is patent attorney trainee at Brinkhof with a focus on the Life Sciences & Pharma sector. Atze is involved in proceedings before the Dutch courts as well as the Unified Patent Court.

Experience & Additional Activities

Atze studied at the University of Groningen, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Life Science and Technology and a master’s degree in Molecular Biology & Biotechnology. His graduate research focused on the development of fluorescent biosensors for the industrially relevant genus Geobacillus, for which he obtained an 8 and the results of which were published in a scientific journal (see footnote). During his studies, he also worked as an undergraduate teacher, tutor and treasurer of a student research initiative. Before joining Brinkhof, Atze worked as a patent attorney trainee at Simmons & Simmons and as a consultant at Deloitte. Atze is a member of the Orde van Octrooigemachtigden, where he is active as a committee member of the Jonge Orde.
