Privacy and data protection
Privacy & data protection
Brinkhof’s team of experienced privacy lawyers is ready to assist you with matters involving privacy and data protection. We help national and international companies comply with increasingly complex legislation and assist them with (enforcement) proceedings where necessary. Clients from the technology, media and telecom sectors, as well as financial and business service providers, know where to find us and have valued us as a top-tier firm now for many years in Chambers and Legal 500.
Solution-oriented and clear
We are bold and take an approach that is creative, solution-oriented and clear. We provide a broader business and legal perspective, and we also consider all other areas of law that are relevant to the use of information and data, such as data and sectoral regulations, competition law and contract law.
A trusted firm in GDPR
In the field of data protection, we advise and litigate on behalf of well-known, and often international, companies in matters concerning the GDPR and other privacy regulations. We also regularly collaborate in this field with top law firms in other countries. Innovative technology companies in particular that rely heavily on data in their business operations make use of our services again and again as their ‘trusted adviser’.
Privacy litigation
We not only advise on privacy, but also have unrivalled experience in privacy litigation, whether that involves an individual case, a fine imposed by a regulatory authority or a collective damages claim. We have a strong track record, with extensive experience not only in the field of privacy, but also in litigating before civil and administrative courts.
A leading firm
With a strong and experienced team that includes several partners who regularly litigate in privacy matters, we have gained the reputation of being the leading law firm in this field. We were the lawyers in the first legal case in which a GDPR fine imposed by the Dutch Data Protection Authority was overturned by the court in two instances. We were also involved in the majority of legal cases concerning the ‘right to be forgotten’.
